Lake Wells is located approximately 200km north of Laverton and 300km east of Lake Way.
SO4 has undertaken a substantial amount of work at Lake Wells, including a Scoping Study in 2016 which confirmed the potential of the project to produce low cost SOP by solar evaporation of Lake Brines. Lake Wells is a priority lake for future development and further exploration and analysis is planned to upgrade the mineral resource and progress technical studies. The existing dataset will be a component of a preliminary economic assessment and strategic review to prioritise future development options.
Lake Ballard And Lake Marmion
Lake Ballard and Marmion sit either side of the Goldfields highway and gas pipeline and the Leonora – Kalgoorlie railway 120km north of Kalgoorlie. Exploration works to develop a resource estimate for both lakes commenced in 2019 will form part of a preliminary economic assessment and strategic review to prioritise future developments.
Lake Irwin is located approximately 100km North East of Leonora in the Northern Gold Fields. The lake occurs as two distinct lobes, with a combined surface area of 306km2, separated by a narrow channel. The potential resource at Lake Irwin stems from the Carey paleochannel which passes beneath the lake and the lake sediments.
Lake Minigwal is located approximately 120km East of Lake Marmion and 230km South of Laverton in the Gold Fields region of Western Australia. To date limited brine sampling of the lakebed sediments and a reconnaissance level passive seismic survey to identify the paleochannel have been undertaken.
